I also paint sometimes…

What began as a requirement for therapy evolved into a love for the medium of acrylic on canvas and eventually digital art. Here are some of my pieces from the last couple of years.

Detailing

A little closeup of one of the ‘angel’ figures on the ceiling of the church. I really enjoy how the muscle definition came out.

One thing to note is that the figures are faceless or only have hints of features to highlight the churches

Getting Started

This was actually my first time underpainting. If I’m being honest, I haven’t noticed a huge difference but my eye isn’t trained for that kind of attention to detail.

After underpainting, I then used several references for the figures drawn. I also then created a story behind the piece. This one highlights the sacrifice of humanity for holiness (thank you, religious trauma).

Finishing the ceiling

Here we have the completed ceiling. One thing to note between this version and the next, is that I’ve kept the ceiling bright and clean to symbolize the pedestal that sacrifice (willing and unwilling) is held within the church while the rest of the place is filthy.
